In the XVIII. 1998 Olympics in Nagano were held four competitions in freestyle skiing. These took place in Iizuna Kogen.

Maximum of 30 points could be achieved. The travel time by 25 %, the technique with 50% and execution of the required maintenance jumps is rated 25% each. The jury consisted of seven judges.
