Fréhel, Côtes-d'Armor

Frehel ( Frehel Breton ) is a commune of 1661 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Côtes- d'Armor, in the Brittany region. It belongs to the community association Communauté de Communes du Pays de Matignon.

History

The community was called until 1972 Pléhérel. From 1972 to 2004, it was merged with the neighboring community Plévenon under the common name Frehel. After the locations were again separated into two independent communities, retained the former municipality Pléhérel in the name Frehel, the other part of municipality returned to its former name Plévenon. To complete the confusion, now is the famous Cap Frehel in the municipality of Plévenon about 8 km north- west of Frehel.

Attractions

The main town is not located directly on the coast. Interestingly, especially among tourist point of view, are the members of the community both coastal settlements and resorts Sables- d'Or -les-Pins and Pléhérel -Plage -Vieux -Bourg.

Worth to see the Cap Frehel and the Fort la Latte.
