The Freinsheim station is a railway station in Freinsheim separation in the Palatinate. Here ends the railway line Freinsheim - Frankenthal in the Palatinate Northern Railway. The station is one of the most important railway junctions in the Palatinate dar.

History

The station was opened as part of the section Durkheim Green city on the Palatine Northern Railway on 20 July 1860. On October 15, 1877, the station was expanded with the opening of the railway link to Frankenthal.

Railway facilities and environment

The station has three tracks and two platforms. The city- side platform is used by trains towards Neustadt / green city; the other platform is used by trains coming from Frankenthal / Green City. Built as Einheitsbau station building is no longer used today.

The station is located directly on the western outskirts of Freinsheim, the station district is located west of the station. In the south of the railway station to connect train to Frankenthal opens into the Palatine Northern Railway. Due to its central location in the triangle Frankenthal Green City Bad Durkheim the station plays an important node function in the Palatinate.

The station building, a three-story stucco building with sandstone portico and wooden canopy, built in 1872 /73 and is a listed building.

Operation ( as of 2012)

The Freinsheim station is approached exclusively in transport. On the two stretches, primarily trains of DB Class 628 The trains from Neustadt usually end in Freinsheim and only drive during rush hour on up green city; only a few trains continue towards green city. Trains from Frankenthal border weekdays in Ramsen; only on Sundays and holidays they continue to Eiswoog.
