Fremersberg Tower

The Fremersberg Tower is a 85 meter high communications and observation tower of the German radio tower. It was erected in 1961 on the 525 meter high Fremersberg at Baden -Baden and has 29 meters height a viewing platform, which can be reached by a staircase of 144 steps.

History

A previous building was built in 1883 as a lookout tower of rubble from a Sinzheimer quarry. It was in 1900 increased to around 28 meters and had to be canceled in 1954 because of the danger of collapse. In the same year he was re- built from the old stones. As Südwestfunk few years later his television studios in Baden -Baden einrichtete and a radio station needed, the existing tower against a modern reinforced concrete construction was replaced.
