Fremont County (Wyoming)

The Fremont County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wyoming. On 1 July 2005, the population was 36 491 people. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lander.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census, the county covers an area of ​​23 998 square kilometers; of which 216 square miles of water. History

Fremont County was founded in 1884. The county was named after the explorer and politician John Charles Fremont. It is the historic area of the Wind River Indian Reservation and the home area of the Shoshone and Arapaho Indians.
