French Industrial Exposition of 1844

The French Industrial Exhibition 1844 ( officially: Exposition des produits de l'industrie française en 1844) was the first of a series of industrial exhibitions that took place in the years 1844 to 1849 in Paris.

The exhibition was shown in purpose-built buildings on the Champs- Élysées. Purpose of this or any other industrial exhibitions that time was to present the progress in agricultural and industrial technology to a wide audience. Impressed by the Exhibition in Paris, to members of the British Royal Society of Arts tried it, also hold an exhibition, which led to the 1851 Great Exhibition opened in London. The Paris exhibition thus became the forerunner of the World Expo.
