Fribourg International Film Festival

The Festival International de Films de Fribourg ( FIFF, German Fribourg International Film Festival ) is taking place every year since 1986 in March Film Festival in Freiburg. The official section includes international competition with 10-12 non-European and non- American films, as well as three short film programs. Additional parallel sections provide thematic film blocks ( ex. " genre cinema " ) with artistic works from all corners of the world. Festival of the goal is to promote the dissemination of outstanding films and the audience to make films accessible that rarely find their way to the cinema in Europe.

The competition is both documentary and feature films have been approved. In collaboration with partners several prizes will be awarded, including the grand prize " Regard d' Or". The cinema program is complemented by supporting events like the FIFF forum for industry representatives and filmmakers. For pupils and students from the region, the film festival with Planète Cinéma additionally offers a compiled specifically for children and young school program. In recent years visited an average of around 30,000 spectators each festival, with 36,000 visitors in 2013 was a new record reached.
