Frida Svensson (rower)

Frida Linnéa Johanna Svensson ( born August 18, 1981 in Falkenberg ) is a Swedish rower.

Svensson began in 1991 with the rowing. In 1998, she was with the quadruple sculls at the Fifth World Junior Championships. In 2002 she won at the U23 world regatta in fourth place in the One, 2003, she was second behind the German Julia Heitmann. At the World Championships in adult category in 2003 it reached the 16th place, a year later she was at the 2004 Olympic Games eighth. In 2005, she reached for the first time at the World Cup in Lucerne as a third party the podium at the 2005 World Championships she came in fifth goal. Their first World Cup medal won Svensson, 2006 Eton with bronze behind the White Russian Ekaterina Karsten and the Czech Miroslava Knapkova. 2007 in Munich, she experienced with the ninth a setback at the European Championships in 2007 in Poznan, however, she won the bronze medal behind the Bulgarian Rumjana Nejkowa and Miroslava Knapkova. In the Olympic Regatta 2008 she won the B-final that finished seventh in the final bill. 2009 followed a ninth place finish at the World Championships, a fourth place finish at the European Championships. In 2010 she received the bronze medal behind Karsten and Knapkova at the European Championships. It reached its greatest success at the 2010 World Championships in New Zealand, where she won the gold medal ahead of Karsten. In 2011 she was unable to defend her title, she won at the World Championships in Bled fifth place.
