Fridolin Leiber

Fridolin Leiber (* 1853 in Niedereschach, † 1912 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German painter.

Life

The Black Forest clock painters reported in 1881 on an ad, the Frankfurt art publishing Eduard Gustav May in the journal Liberal Arts. He was then head of the lithographic studios and thus " house painter " of the company.

Leiber's first work for EC May were typical depictions of saints. He subsequently processed motifs such as the ten " stages of life " of the people. Seven stages of " different levels in human life ," the " two ways" as well as Guardian Angel representations Some of these motifs go back to older, partly medieval image formulations that were redrawn after ideas of the company's management and " modernized ".

Leiber signed by either his full name or his monogram " F. L. " found As popular mural prints his pictures widespread.
