Friedensburg Castle

The peace Castle is a castle fortress on the mountain Sormitztal at people in the southeast of Thuringia. It was the residence of the Counts of Schwarzburg- mountain people, dates from the early 16th century and is now used as a dermatological specialty hospital.

History

The architectural history of the castle begins in the 9th century, when Slavic tribes on the hill docked a refuge where they could seek protection from the sorbent from the East. Later, the counts of Schwarzburg- mountain people followed as lords ( 1362-1564 ).
