Frieder Gröger

Frieder Groeger is a German mycologist from Berlin. His official author abbreviation is " Groeger ".

Life

Frieder Groeger was 15 years as a teacher before he gave up his career prematurely. Subsequently, he earned his living partly as a district mushroom expert. In addition, he was a freelance artist, usually a writer. He also dealt with mushroom picking, the sell of collectible, flower cultivation and sale of flowers and bulbs.

Groeger designed mainly the " Mycological Newsletter Hall ", which was distributed to the mushroom experts of the GDR. In addition, he was actively involved in the mushroom- known union journal " Boletus " the two sheets merged under the title in the 90s. Until his 65th birthday he read correction, edited manuscripts and did paperwork. At this time also ended its participation in the Federal Committee Mycology NABU. From then on, he focused on the development of determination tables. First as a " Supplement to the Journal of Mycology " planned, was published in 2006 the first part of his " determination key for agarics and boletes in Europe" as Volume 13 of the Regensburg Mycological writings.

He is a member of the fungal Ethnography Working Group Berlin -Brandenburg eV ( PabB ).
