Friedrich Anton Ulrich, Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont

Friedrich Anton Ulrich of Waldeck ( born November 27, 1676 in Landau, † January 1, 1728 in Pyrmont ) was Count or Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont.

Friedrich Anton Ulrich was the son of Christian Ludwig, Graf zu Waldeck- Wildungen, and Anna Elisabeth, heiress of Rappoltstein. From 1706 to 1712 he was Count of Waldeck and Pyrmont. On January 6, 1712 was built by Emperor Charles VI. elevated to the hereditary prince and called himself Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont since then.

He built the hunting lodge Friedrich Thal ( 1701) in Selbach, the Baroque castle to Pyrmont ( 1706), Castle Frederick Stone in Wildungen ( 1707-1714 ), and finally the residence Arolsen Castle ( 1713-1729 ), founding Arolsen as the residence ( 1719).
