Friedrich Kuhn

Friedrich " Fritz" Kuhn (* October 24, 1919; † January 8, 2005 ) was a German bobsledder. He won in 1952 in the four-man Olympic gold medal.

Career

Fritz Kuhn started for the Bobsleigh Munich. For the Olympic Games of 1952, Kuhn had qualified as a brakeman by Theo putty. The two together occupied eleventh place in the two-man bob.

For the competition in the four-man event itself Anderl Ostler and Franz Kemser had qualified with their bobs. The training runs in Oslo, the two German Bobs were significantly behind the heavier teams from the USA and Switzerland. The German team lead then reported from the second German Bob and put the heaviest people in a bob. The composite in this way with Bob Anderl Ostler, Friedrich Kuhn, Lorenz Nieberl and Franz Kemser then won before the U.S. Bob Stanley Benham and Swiss Bob Fritz Feierabend. After the 1952 Olympics weight limits for two - and four-man bobs were introduced.

The Cinema Comedy Guys by Marcus H. Rose Müller from 2006 takes up the story of the Olympic bobsled team from 1952.
