Friedrich Lahrs

Friedrich Lahr ( born July 11, 1880 in Königsberg, † March 13, 1964 in Stuttgart ) was an East Prussian architect, art historian and professor.

After graduating from the Löbenichtsches secondary school in Königsberg from 1898 he studied at the Technical University ( Berlin ) Charlottenburg. 1906 Schinkel Prize he was awarded. In the subsequent clerkship, he worked as Regierungsbauführer until 1908 in Berlin. In the same year he was appointed by Ludwig Dettmann to the art academy of Königsberg. 1911-1934 Lahr was a full professor of architecture, space art and space studies at the art academy in Königsberg. Among his famous works are the 1909 to 1919 created new art academy in Königsberg, which was built in 1913 at the Kunsthalle Wrangelturm and built 1923-1924 Stoa Kantiana belonged at Königsberg Cathedral.

In 1956, Lahr published the book The Königsberg Castle, which represents the architectural history of this castle in detail.
