The Friedrich- Märker price for essayists was named after the Bavarian essayist Friedrich Märker German literary prize. From 1986 to 2002 awarded him a year, the Munich-based foundation for the promotion of literature.

History

The Friedrich- Märker price for essayists was the successor of the "Poet prize" (founded in 1950), founded by the Märker Foundation. This was supported by the Bavarian Radio and was worth 5,000 DM.
