Friedrich Moritz von Nostitz-Rieneck

Friedrich Moritz von Nostic Rieneck (* October 4, 1728, † November 19, 1796 in Vienna) was an imperial field marshal, chamberlain, privy councilor and president of the War Council.

Life

Moritz Friedrich Count von Nostic Rieneck came from the Czech branch of the old originally Upper Lusatian noble family Nostic.

He served until 1759 in the cuirassiers Conte Luquesi and was promoted to colonel in the same year and Adjutant General Field Marshal Leopold Joseph von Daun. In 1763 he was assigned to Hungary. Three years later he became major general and in 1767 owner of cuirassiers. 1773 received Nostic Rieneck his promotion to Lieutenant-General. At the outbreak of the Bavarian Succession War he joined the army to Bohemia. In 1785 he was general of the cavalry and commander of the Trabantenleibgarde and the Imperial Palace Guard.

1791, Emperor Leopold II a commission to investigate the existing military system in the Crown Prince Archduke Franz presided. After his accession to the throne in 1792 Nostic Rieneck President of this Commission. The work during this time is in the so-called Notzschen files, a collection of his reports and logs in kk Cabinet archive stored.

On May 12, 1796 Field Marshal appointed (according to other sources on May 15, 1796) and President of the Imperial War Council Friedrich Moritz von Nostic Rieneck, an office which he was able to exert only a few months. He died on November 19th 1796 68 -year-old, in Vienna. For his services he was awarded in 1790 the Order of the Golden Fleece.

1651: Squared shield with crowned red heart sign is three golden beams (county Rieneck ). In the first field in blue on a golden crescent two outwardly curved, red and silver geschachtete horns with the points downwards.
