Friedrich Pinter

Friedrich " Fritz" Pinter ( born February 22, 1978 in Villach, Carinthia ) is an Austrian biathlete.

The time soldier of the Austrian army starts for the Union Rosenbach Langlaufclub and is the brother of Skilangläufers Jürgen Pinter. He began at the age of 13 years with the cross-country skiing and visited the Skihandelsschule in Schladming in Styria. In 1993 he was taken to the squad of the Austrian Ski Federation. In the 2000 /01 season he switched to the sport of biathlon from special long run.

His biggest success of Carinthia at the Biathlon World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen. There he won jointly with Daniel Mesotitsch, Wolfgang Rottmann and Christoph Sumann the bronze medal in the relay competition. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, he finished more than 20 kilometers from the 26th place in the relay competition, he came with his teammates on the 17th Place. His best World Cup rankings Pinter reached in the 2007/ 08 season with a second place in the chase in Oslo and third places in the sprints in Oslo and Pyeongchang.
