Friedrich Plaschke

Friedrich Plaschke, also Bedřich Plaske ( born January 7, 1875 in Jaromere; † February 4, 1952 in Prague ) was a Czech-German bass - baritone. He made his debut in 1900 at the Dresden Court Opera as Herald in Lohengrin. He remained until 1937 a member of the ensemble. His roles included Pöschel in Feuersnot, the First Nazarene in Salome, Arcesius in d' Albert's The dead eyes, Altair in The Egyptian Helena, Count Waldner ( Arabella ) and Morosus ( The Silent Woman ). He was the first performer of Barak ( The Woman without a Shadow ), Gérard (Andrea Chénier ), Boris Godunov and Amfortas ( Parsifal ) in Dresden.

He was also a guest in the United States, the Bayreuth Festival and the Royal Opera House in London.

Plaschke was married to the singer Eva von der Osten ( 1881-1936 ).
