Friedrich Stickler

Friedrich Stickler ( born January 18, 1949 in Vienna) is an Austrian sports functionary. He is Deputy General Manager of Austrian Lotteries and was president of the Austrian Football Association ( OFB ).

Life and career

From 1969 to 1986 Stickler worked at Casinos Austria AG, initially while studying as a clerk in the game technical service, then as an employee of the Foreign Department (special projects and management of ship-based casinos ), and finally assistant to the Director-General. 1985/86 he worked as a project manager with the introduction of " 6 out of 45" in Austria.

Since 1986, Stickler is a board director of the Austrian Lotteries mbH In this role, Stickler, 1988 was involved in the introduction of the International Youth Toto Cups and the 1989 Toto Youth as Austria on junior championship. In December 1988 he became a member of the Bundesliga youth centers Commission. In addition, Stickler contributed to the development of the UEFA Intertoto Cup. From 1995 to 2000 Stickler was a member of the UEFA Intertoto Cup Commission.

From 1988 to 1994 Stickler was a member of the Executive Committee of the International Football Cup IFC.

On 14 April 1997 in Athens Stickler was elected by the General Assembly of the Euro football pools as the new President and thus to succeed Lennart Johansson.

From 7 April 2002 to November 7, 2008 Stickler was president of the Austrian Football Association. He has covered the honorary position of president of football professional reasons.
