Friedrich Weidemann
Friedrich Weidemann ( born January 1, 1871 in Ratzeburg, † January 30, 1919 in Vienna ) was a German baritone, among others, at the Vienna Court Opera.
Trained in Hamburg / D (with Wilhelm Vilmar ) and Berlin (with Conrad Muschler ), debuted in 1896 at the Stadttheater in Brieg / Silesia ( Brzeg / PL ), sang 1897 in Essen / D, from 1898 to 1901 in Hamburg, 1901-03 in Riga. ( Hired by G. Mahler ) 1903 until his death he was a member of the Vienna Court Opera. Especially in Wagner Specialists (including Amfortas 1914 in the Vienna EA of Parsifal ), but eg also as Mozart's Don Giovanni and as Orestes in Strauss ' Elektra and in UA.en of operas by J. Bittner, Mrs. Schmidt, etc. successfully. W. guested 1908 in Berlin, 1910 in London, 1917 in Zurich / Switzerland and worked as a concert singer (including 1905 in the run by G. Mahler UA of the Kindertotenlieder, 1912 in the Song of the Earth in the first version for tenor and baritone ). Until his death he was celebrated member of the Vienna Court Opera.
