Friedrich Weyerhäuser

Friedrich ( Frederick ) Weyerhaeuser ( born November 21, 1834 in Nieder- Saulheim, Rheinhessen, † April 4, 1914 in Pasadena, California ) was an American timber mogul and founder of the company Weyerhaeuser, the large forest areas, as well as sawmills, paper mills and other manufacturing plants had and has.

At the age of 18 years, immigrated to the U.S. and Weyerhaeuser began as a laborer in a sawmill, which he later bought. He also began to acquire shares in many other timber companies, in part, these were majority holdings. In 1872 he built the Mississippi River Boom and Logging Co. an alliance, which settled all logs that were processed on the Mississippi. 1900 Weyerhaeuser purchased by JJ Hill 900,000 hectares of forest land in the Pacific Northwest, and thus founded the Weyerhaeuser timber company. Weyerhaeuser never changed the names of the companies that he controlled. One of the 30 factories at which he had a share, Potlatch, later Potlatch Corporation was. He also had shares of Boise Cascade Corporation. The company Weyerhaeuser is still the world's largest wooden seller.
