Friedrichswalde

Friedrichswalde is a municipality north as the town of Brandenburg in the Barnim district with the county town of Eberswalde. It consists of two districts Friedrichswalde and Parlow - Glambeck. Since 24 July 2013, the community officially leads, on the place-name signs, the additional designation " clogmaker village".

Geography

Friedrichswalde located on the northern edge of the Schorfheide biosphere reserve Schorfheide -Chorin.

History

The town was founded in 1748 on adoption of the Prussian King Frederick II, from which it takes its name. He also led that 30 farming families from the Palatinate and Rheinhessen settled here, who took personal relief against the orphaned by the Thirty Years' War, lands in processing. There were also Büdner families to 1768 another 22. From the privileges granted by Frederick II gave a special status to the inhabitants of the neighboring towns, what a special reputation of Friedrich Walder took quite a long time with how the local chronicle is apparent. Outside the church there is a large granite stone, which is dedicated to the 30 Erstsiedlerfamilien and provides information on their arrival in the Mark Brandenburg in 1748.

The communities Esselborn and Friedrichswalde agreed a partnership in October 1999.

Worth seeing is the village church and dovecote in the district Glambeck.

Traffic

The connection of Friedrichswalde to the railway took place in 1898 Friedrichswalde The station lies on the line Templin -. Britz, the - is operated by DB Regio AG recently in SPNV of ODEG - belonging to the regional network Brandenburg DB Netz AG. The local rail between Templin and Joachimsthal was canceled on country Timetable 2007. The track is only used occasionally since then between Templin and Joachimsthal for freight. Through the district Glambeck - Parlow of the bike path in Berlin- Usedom runs.
