The Friends General Conference ( FGC) is next to the Friends United Meeting and Evangelical Friends International one of the three largest in the Quäkerdachorganisationen are mainly represented at the annual and monthly meetings in North America. The main office is located in the United States in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Orientation

Each of these organizations represents a slightly different theological orientation. The FGC united among themselves with unprogrammed Quaker worship, thus without liturgy and pastoral preaching and leadership. The members of the FGC are more prone to liberal theological views and lifestyle as the members in the other two organizations (and also the average views of U.S. citizens ).

Meeting

Once a year in July, a conference organized by the FGC is aligned with the its members participate. In addition, the FGC has a self- publishing and support individual groups and individuals with the provision of materials. The FGC is represented by 170 delegates from 112 affiliated groups. The employee will be provided by their members and do their work partly voluntary and unpaid.

  • Faith is based on direct experience with God ( faith is based on direct experience of God)
  • Our life is a testimony of this experience, both of the individual and the group as well ( our lives witness this experience Individually and corporately ).
  • In response to the existence of God in every person we form closed communities and get this straight (by answering did of God in everyone, we build and sustain inclusive community).
