The Office is located in the district Friesack Havel countryside on the edge of the Natural Park Westhavelland in Brandenburg. It is located on the B 5 about 30 km from the towns Rathenow, Nauen, Kyritz and about 40 km from Neuruppin away.

The Office has Friesack after the main statutes following member communities:

  • Friesack with the districts Wutzetz, lilac Horst, Briesen and Zootzen
  • Mühlenberge with the districts Haage, Senzke and Wagenitz
  • Paulinenaue with the district Selbelang

  • Wiesenaue with the districts Brädikow, Jahnberge, Vietznitz and Warsow
  • Retzow

History

On 13 May 1992, the Minister of the Interior gave its approval for the formation of the Office Friesack, has been set for the conclusion of June 19, 1992. Seat of office administration, the city was Friesack. The following municipalities from the former district Nauen were in it together: Pessin, Senzke, Vietznitz, Wutzetz, Zootzen, Warsow, Brädikow, Paulinenaue, Haage, Waagenitz and the city Friesack.

In a release from the Ministry of the Interior on 30 April 2002, published in the Official Journal of Brandenburg on 15 May 2002, the Ministry approved the formation of the new community Mühlenberge from the communities Haage, Senzke and Wagenitz with effect from 31 December 2002. Likewise with effective 31 December 2002, the municipalities Wutzetz and Zootzen were incorporated into the city Friesack.

On 26 October 2003 the new congregation Jahnberge was formed from the communities Brädikow, Vietznitz and Warsow. The community Selbelang (Official Nauen - country) was incorporated in the official nationals Paulinenaue community and the community Retzow (Official Nauen - country) was assigned to the Office Friesack.

On 7 June 2004, the municipal council decided to rename Jahnberge in Wiesenaue. The amendment entered into force on 1 October 2004.

The coat of arms was approved on 11 October 1994.

Flag

The flag consists of three equal-width strips of the colors green, silver ( white), red and centrally assigned the cross on the outer fringes official coat of arms.
