Friesendorf is since 6 March 2009, a district of the town of Mansfeld in the west of the district of Mansfeld- South Harz in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ). The formerly independent municipality has 354 inhabitants ( 31 December 2007) at 18.03 km ² and belonged to the administrative community Wipper - A. Last honorary mayor Fries village was Jörg Borchardt.

Geography

Fries village lies in the valley of the upper Wipper, in the Lower Harz, about 14 km from the city center Mansfeld and 14 km from Sangerhausen. In the wooded area Fries village heights up to 397 m above sea level. NN reached ( Eichberg ).

The municipality Friesendorf the district Rammelburg belonged to the same castle.

History

Friesendorf emerges as " Fridurichsdorph " in Hersfeld tithe register early as the 9th century. 1548 reported the " Mansfeld Chronicles " The Bear fishing in the then official Rammelburg.

One of the traditions in Friesendorf heard the annual local festival, the procession with Erbsbär, witch and bear-leaders on the second weekend in January and the Easter fire.

On 6 March 2009 Friesendorf was incorporated to Mansfeld.
