Frigiliana

The white village of Frigiliana is located in Andalusia in the district of Axarquia in Malaga province in Spain. The village is about 65 km east of Malaga and about 7 kilometers from Nerja and has 3395 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Frigiliana, which is about 435 meters above sea level, is one of the towns in the province of Málaga, in which the original Moorish structure to the old town is still preserved best. Here you can still find the typical narrow and decorated with flowers and ornaments streets and white houses, for which the region is famous. Per Municipalities Act, residents are required to regularly kalken their homes.

Frigiliana has received numerous award " Most Beautiful Village of Andalusia ".

The town is nestled on the southern slopes of the Sierra de Enmedio, which form a part of the Sierra Almijara mountains, the boundary line between the provinces of Malaga and Granada. From many places in the city you can enjoy a magnificent view down to the Mediterranean.
