Frise (Somme)

Frise ( Picard: Frisse ) is a northern French village with 187 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is part of the Canton of Bray- sur -Somme and is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot.

Geography

The church on the left bank of this meandering and Ponds ( Marais de Frise ) extended Somme, which forms the flat, intersected by Canal de la Somme Umlaufberg Fond de l' Ile here is, about nine kilometers east of Bray- sur- Somme. It extends south to the road department D1. To Frise owned by the hamlet of La Grenouillère. Along the bluff stone was broken.

History

Frise was in Estonian World War II on the front line and was severely damaged. Especially in the Montagne de Frise (now Biotop-/Artenschutzgebiet the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources category IV) found heavy fighting took place.

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
