Friso Nijboer

Friso Nijboer ( born May 26, 1965 in Nijmegen ) is a Dutch chess player.

His successes include the 1995 Tournament wins in Wijk aan Zee, 1999 in Den Bosch, 2002 in Vlissingen, 2003 in Groningen and decoding as well as in Amsterdam in 2004.

In addition, the International Grand Master also took part in chess Olympiads for the Netherlands since 1996.

With the Dutch national team he won the 2001 European Championship.

Nijboer was also active in the German Chess League. In the 1996/97 season he played for the SG Bochum 31, then he moved to SG Porz. In the 2006/07 season he played for the Chess Association Plettenberg.

His current Elo rating is 2560 (as of January 2009). He is elftbester players of the Netherlands. He had his best world ranking placement in October 2006 with 67th place (Elo 2641 ).
