Fritz Abromeit

Fritz Abromeit (* October 30, 1923; † 4 October 2004) was a German football player.

Abromeit spent his entire career, which lasted from 1946 to 1957, at Rot-Weiss Essen. He was not a regular player, but could close gaps through withdrawals or injuries again and again. In total he played 67 league matches and scored 30 goals. While he was in the DFB Cup final in 1953, but not in the final of the German Cup in 1955. Both games were won. On October 12, 1955, the striker scored the only European goal in the history of RWE in Edinburgh, at the Erstaustragung of the European Cup of Champions 1955/56.
