Fritz Ewert

Fritz Ewert ( born February 9, 1937 † 16 March 1990 in Swisttal- Heimerzheim ) was a German football player. As Keeper of the 1st FC Cologne he won in 1962 and 1964, twice the German championship.

Career

Clubs

As Keeper of the TuRU Dusseldorf the 20-year talent in the league association Lower Rhine drew attention to himself. From national coach Sepp Herberger the sudden huge amateur players was appointed on May 26, 1957 for the game between the youth team U 23 in Bayreuth against Czechoslovakia. The 1-1 draw, he formed together with the defender pair Herbert Dienelt and Hermann Höfer the rear triangle of the German team. On 20 and 26 June still included two test matches in DFB team in Schweinfurt and Berlin. For the season 1957/58 he moved to the Football Oberliga West 1st FC Cologne.

Coach Hennes Weisweiler started with the new data from Dusseldorf on 11 August 1957 in the Oberliga season 1957/58. The " Billy Goat Elf " won 4-2 at Fortuna Dusseldorf gates. In the European Cup the tall goalkeeper had already collected in rounds 1958/59 bis 1961/62 in MesseCup experience. National

Even as an amateur player of TuRU Dusseldorf began the international career of the goalkeeper. For the first time on 26 May 1957 he was appointed by the then national coach Sepp Herberger in the junior national team U 23. As keeper of the 1st FC Cologne followed in the season 1958/59, two further operations against Denmark and England in this talent selection of the DFB. On 3 October 1959 he was tested by the federal trainer at B countries in Konstanz game against Switzerland. In the 0:1 defeat to the Confederates, he formed together with the defenders Friedel Lutz and Willi Giesemann and the runner series with Willi Schulz, Ferdinand Wenauer and Dieter Stinka the defensive. His debut in the A-National Team he gave on 21 October 1959 in Cologne 's 7-0 win against the Netherlands. Overall, he played four times for the German national. In the best phase of Fritz Ewert, Hans Tilkowski the goalkeeper in the national team.
