Fritz Kirchhoff

Fritz Kirchhoff ( born December 10, 1901 in Hannover, † June 25, 1953 in Hamburg; actually Friedrich Georg Anton Kirchhoff ) was a German film director and producer.

Life

He studied at the universities of Munich, Frankfurt and Göttingen and German literature. From 1927 he worked as a playwright and theater director in Halberstadt, Osnabrück, Augsburg and Stuttgart. 1933 Kirchhoff staged in Berlin and was then senior director and head of dramaturgy at the Wuppertal Opera.

With a short film he made 1936/1937 his debut as a film director at UFA. It was followed by various entertainment films, 1941 attack on Baku and June 5, two propaganda films.

After the war he founded in 1945 the Berlin acting school " The Circle" and in 1948 in Hamburg his own film production company " Pontusfilm ". In the film, Kirchhoff limited now completely on his production work while he directed the drama school until his death. After that, his wife took over the management of the school, then the former students Dietrich Lehmann.
