Frivilligt Drenge- og Pige-Forbund

FDF is a Christian children's and youth organization in Denmark and Southern Schleswig in the adjacent, with approximately 24,000 members. The abbreviation FDF stands for " Frivilligt Drenge -og Pige - Forbund ," which translates to " volunteer boys 'and girls' association " means.

Ages

In FDF, there are different age classes for the children. From the age of 18 can be group leader.

History

FDF was founded on 27 October 1902 in Frederiksberg by Holger Tornøe and Ludvig Valentiner, making it Denmark's oldest uniformed children and youth league. First FDF was as " Frivilligt Drenge Forbund " a pure boy dressing. On June 5, 1952, the girls federation FPF, the " Frivilligt Pige Forbund ", founded as a counterpart to FDF by Signe Larsen and Willy Gravesen. In 1974, the two associations merged to FDF / FPF. 1994 simplified the name to its present form FDF.

International Partnerships

FDF is a member of the fimcap and the European Fellowship. Sister organizations in German-speaking countries are so young, the Catholic church ( kjg ) in Germany, Jungwacht blue ring ( Jubla ) in Switzerland and the Catholic youth group in Austria ( KJSÖ ).
