Frode Grytten

Frode Grytten ( born December 11, 1960 in Odda ) is a Norwegian writer of the younger generation, which has established itself internationally in recent years. Born in 1960 in Odda, he made his debut as a lyricist with the poetry collection launch. His first novel Bikubesong ( German title: what counts in life) was established in 1999 a great success. In 24 portraits of the novel tells of a sensitive, profound, but also comical way of life of the people in the small town of Odda, who grew up in the Grytten.

For his work to date he has been honored with numerous awards, such as the significant Bragepreis, the Norwegian language Prize and in 2005 the Riverton Prize for his crime novel Flytande bjørn.

Today Grytten lives in Bergen, where for years he wrote as a journalist for the Bergens Tidende, but currently fully dedicated to his literary ambitions.
