The Frog Museum is located in the district of Munich Neumünchenstein Stein ( Basel-Country, Switzerland ). The museum is open every first Sunday of the month from 14:00 bis 17:00 clock. It shows about 14,000 different frog figurines, frog illustrations with objects and utensils in frog form.

History

The Frog Museum was opened in 1981/82 on a private basis by Mr. and Mrs. Elfi and Rolf Rindlisbacher with around 5,000 collectibles. In 1993 the collection was so large that it was entered into the Guinness Book of Records. The exhibition space soon had to be enlarged, as the couple was given some collections and thus was able to increase his own collection. The museum has now about 14,000 " Frogs" of very different sizes and materials (glass, semi-precious stone, wood, metal, porcelain, candle wax, suede, cardboard, marzipan or chocolate). On the first of April 2012, the Munich stone frog Museum celebrated its 20th anniversary.
