From the beginning, From Monument to Masses do besides music also by their political commitment a name. They are assigned to the left-hand anti imperialist / anti-globalization spectrum, which is especially evident by samples and Platten-/Liedtitel.

In April 2010 the band announced their separation.

Style

From Monument to Masses play instrumental post-rock near Tristeza or the old Mogwai, in the intensity and complexity of orchestral bands like Godspeed You! Black Emperor remembered it but much more rock comes along and allow comparisons with the late Unwound or Turing Machine. The songs, which usually exceed the 5-minute limit, convey the political message means rehearsed speech samples.
