Fronhausen

Fronhausen is a large village in the extreme south of the Hessian district of Marburg -Biedenkopf. Geographically, the community belongs to the space Mittelhessen. The community was named after its largest district Fronhausen.

Geography

Geographical Location

The municipal area stretches along the southern border in the district of Marburg - Lahn Giessen from the eastern edge of the Gladenbacher highlands in the west to the extreme lower reaches of the Zwester ohms between Lahnbergen and Lumda plateau to the east. All districts except Oberwalgern (250 m above sea level) lie in valleys below 200 m. Fronhausen is located about 15 kilometers south of the regional center of Marburg and about 20 kilometers north of Giessen.

Neighboring communities

Fronhausen borders in the north on the community of Weimar ( Lahn), to the east by the municipality Ebsdorfergrund (both Marburg- Biedenkopf ), to the south by the cities Staufenberg and Lollar (both in Gießen district ), and in the west on the community of Lohra ( County Marburg -Biedenkopf ).

History

The Evangelical Church Fronhausen dates from the 12th century.

Fronhausen 1821 was the seat of a judicial office, and from 1867 to 1943 the district court Fronhausen.

Incorporations

Already on 31 December 1971, the previously independent villages Fronhausen and Sichertshausen merged to community Fronhausen.

The law on the restructuring of the districts Biedenkopf and Marburg and the city of Marburg from March 12, 1974 was then determined in the following the amalgamation of the following former municipalities merged to Fronhausen to July 1, 1974 from the existing community Fronhausen ( Fronhausen and Sichertshausen ) and the surrounding villages Bellnhausen, Erbenhausen Hassenhausen, Holzhausen and Oberwalgern.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 14 June 1982 by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior.

Blazon: " In the red, with a silver wave beams left diagonally split shields above a silver eagle's flight, below seven (4: 3) silver diamonds. "

The coat of arms was selected after formation of the large village of several designs. It shows the wave beam, indicating that the municipality by flowing Lahn, and the wings and the diamonds from the crest of the bailiffs of Fronhausen or cupbearer to pig mountain as a local nobleman, with the number seven of diamonds refers to the number of districts.
