Fronreute

Fronreute is a municipality in Baden -Württemberg and belongs to the district of Ravensburg.

Fronreute located in Upper Swabia near the district town of Ravensburg and Weingarten city. The municipality comprises the two villages Blitzenreute (main places: Blitzenreute and Staig ) and Fronhofen with a total of 25 villages covering an area of ​​4800 hectares thus Fronreute is one of the largest area municipalities in Baden -Württemberg. Structurally Fronreute is a residential community with agriculture and small scale enterprises. The municipality is a member of the local government association Fronreute - Wolpertswende based in Wolpertswende.

Adjacent communities are from the north clockwise Altshausen, Wolpertswende, Baindt, Baienfurt, Mountain Horgenzell, Wilhelm village, Fleischwangen and Ebenweiler (all district Ravensburg ).

History

The community Fronreute was created on September 1, 1972 merger of Blitzenreute and Fronhofen. The territory of the municipality was already in the early 10th century the property of the Guelphs, the there the later barons of Königsegg - then known as the Lords of Fronhofen - inserting. Later, the area belonged to the imperial abbey of Weingarten. With the secularization due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss circuit, the place fell to the Kingdom of Württemberg, where it was the chief official in Ravensburg assigned ( today district Ravensburg ).

Fronreute is dominated Roman Catholic as the surrounding countryside. The Evangelical Lutheran Christians in Fronreute are parishioners of the Protestant church Mochenwangen that covers the territory of political communities Wolpertswende and Fronreute. It belongs to the deanery Ravensburg and has 613 church members in Wolpertswende and 625 church members in Fronreute ( as of 2004).

Of the 14 seats in the city council eliminated four of the CDU and ten on voters' associations since the municipal election held on 7 June 2009.
