Front organization

Front organization is an upcoming from the American and English term for (political ) organizations that hide their true goals.

The term ' front' comes from the Latin frons = end back through which you can not see through, accordingly front in the American a person or group whose work or external appearance serves to conceal their true aims, in English, an organization etc, which serves as cover for unpresentable activities.

The term was used primarily during the Cold War for a number of organizations in which there was more or less clear evidence that they were instructed by the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPSU, such as the World Federation of Trade Unions ( WFTU ), the World Peace Council ( WFR ), the world Federation of Democratic Youth, the International student Association, the International Federation of Resistance Fighters.

The term was later applied to his original user, such as on the CIA front organizations, but also the Scientologists or the Moonies.

It is now used for all organizations who give their target direction, not openly identify their backers or their funding.
