Frontera Hidalgo is a municipality in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas.

Frontera Hidalgo was called to 1989 Frontera Díaz. The present name is dedicated to the Mexican Libertarians Miguel Hidalgo, preceded by the name honored the President of Mexico Porfirio Díaz multiple.

The municipality has about 12,000 inhabitants and an area of 94.4 km ². Administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the same Frontera Hidalgo; second largest city of the Municipalities is Ignacio Zaragoza.

The municipality of Frontera Hidalgo borders the Municipalities Metapa, Tuxtla Chico, Tapachula and Suchiate and to the Republic of Guatemala.
