Fronton (court)

A fronton is the pitch of the Basque National Sports Pelota.

He is usually centrally located and depending on the game variation between 35 and 60 meters long and 15 meters wide. The design is different, in the simplest form it consists only of a wall, partially, the field is also limited by a side wall and sometimes by a rear wall. In addition to classic Freiluftfrontóns there, especially in cities also covered pediments.

A subspecies of the pediments is called Trinquete, which is characterized by a covered shelter on one side of the playing field.
