Fronton (Haute-Garonne)

The community Fronton is located in the Région Midi -Pyrénées, Haute- Garonne in France. It has an area of 45.8 km ² at altitudes 101-189 m above sea level and has 5700 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). Fronton is located about halfway between the capital of the department of Toulouse (28 km south), whose agglomeration it belongs, and the city of Montauban, which is 22 km north.

History

The Romans settled in the area, which in the possession of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, came the later Order of Malta some time later.
