Froville

Froville (sometimes called Froville -la- novels ) is a commune with 122 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region. The medieval name was Frodonis villa.

Location

Froville lies about 260 meters above sea level. inst the upper reaches of the river neuron in a forest -and water -rich environment. The distance to Nancy is about 35 km ( driving distance ) in a northwesterly direction; Luneville is located approximately 20 kilometers north-east. The capital of the canton, Bayon is located about four kilometers to the west.

History

About the history of the small town is not known. It should, however, have over the centuries in order founded in 1080 Benedictine priory, an annex of the Abbey of Cluny, developed.

  • The three-aisled nave of the priory church of Froville was probably shortly after the founding of the Priory, so towards the end of the 11th century.
