Fructification

The fructification (Latin fructus = fruit and facere = form ) or fruit formation is the formation of fruits and seeds of marriageable plants. In mosses to form sporangia, in fungi it is the fruiting body. In mycology, the term is also used as a general term for compact, fungal structures used such as Conidiomata, Stromata of Ascokarpien, but also Plasmodiokarpien of slime molds. When in a wood only every year takes place fructification, it is called a mast year.
