FSR Tarpan

Tarpan was a Polish car brand.

Company History

1974 became Fabryka Samochodów Rolniczych of poses with the production of automobiles, which ended in 1996. Thereafter, the Tarpan was produced until 2001 Daewoo Polska. In 2001, the Russo- British Konsortiutm Intrall production, until it went bankrupt. 2008 DZT Tymińscy bought the bankrupt's estate and produced since 2009 the Honker 4x4 ( as successor to the Tarpan ) in Lublin.

Rolling stock

The vehicles were SUVs that were suitable as commercial vehicles in agriculture. Initially, they were driven by the four-cylinder engine of the Warszawa, 125p later, the engine of the Fiat Polski. In 1989 the model Tarpan Honker, created in collaboration with Iveco. Engine and chassis came from Fiat and Nissan. The choice was between a gasoline engine with 82 horsepower and a diesel engine with 106 hp. This model was also available as a minibus and pickup. After the takeover by Daewoo, he became the Daewoo Honker. 1996 Fabryka Samochodow Rolniczych was dissolved.

Since 2009, the Honker 4x4 is produced as a successor to the Tarpan in Lublin. This rugged off-road vehicle has been used successfully by the Polish military, including in Iraq. Most parts of the Honker 4 × 4 were developed in Lublin. Even the 2.6-liter common rail diesel is a development of the company DZT Tymińscy. Meanwhile, there are the Honker 4 × 4 as a civilian version in various versions ( hard top, soft top, etc.).
