FSV Bentwisch

The FSV Bentwisch is a sports club from Bentwisch, district of Rostock. It was founded on 21 December 1966 as a pure football club and now has around 400 members who are active in nine divisions.

History and club structure

On 21 December 1966, the FSV Bentwisch was founded under the name Club SG Bentwisch as a pure football club. In GDR times, the team played exclusively in the circuit and district class. 1990 was a renaming of the association held in football club (FSV) Bentwisch. The inclusion of other sports, the name was changed into Freizeitsportverein Bentwisch 2009, whereby the FSV - Short name remained. Today there are besides the football department, the department grassroots which consists of eight sections in which the active sports club can be operated:

  • Walking

The club uses the Sports Forum in Bentwisch with two artificial turf fields, a stadium with natural grass and a sports hall.

Division football

Due to the championship title in the Verbandesliga Mecklenburg -Vorpommern in 2008 by the first men's team played them in the 2008/ 09 season in the Oberliga Nordost then fünftklassigen. After the season was initially completed with the league on the 12th rank, the FSV his team but withdrew due to lack of funding from the league. As a result, almost all players left the club 's first team, whereupon the second team took their place and took from the season 2009/10 in the siebtklassigen division of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Season Nord). In 2012, the return to the fifth division succeeded.

Both the A- and the B- youth were in the 2007/ 08 national champion.
