FSV Wacker 03 Gotha

The FSV Wacker 03 Gotha is a football club in the Thuringian town of Gotha district.

History

The club was founded in 1907 as FC Wacker Gotha and later called himself into SV Wacker 07 Gotha. 1916, the club first participated at the final round of the Central German championship. After a 3-0 in the first intermediate round against SpVgg Erfurt, Gotha foundered in the next round with 0-1 against Borussia hall. In 1933 the club again in the final round, but lost equal to the first game with 1:3 against Wacker Gera.

After the Second World War, the club was initially re-established as SG Gotha and renamed in SG little forward Gotha later. Starting in 1950, the club finally called BSG Motor Gotha. In GDR times, played the first team always unterklassig, the biggest success was the participation in the II DDR -Liga in 1958, but out of the club relegated after only one year. 1954, 1969 and 1982 took the Gotha also on fdgb Cup part, but always failed in the first round.

As of 1990, called the SV engine Gotha, before he returned to his old name SV Wacker Gotha 1993. 2001, the team finished first in the league Thuringia and rose to the Oberliga. In April 2003, it created the foundation for their own football team. The football section split from the rest of the sports SV Wacker 07 Gotha and founded a football-only sports club, FSV Wacker 03 Gotha. 2003 rose again from Gotha in Thuringia the league. There they occupied in the 2009/10 season behind Eintracht Sondershausen the 2nd place. Since the Nordthüringer for financial reasons did not perceive their rise right Gotha thus rose to the Oberliga Nordost.

Venues

People's Park Stadium

The team carries out their home games at Gotha People's Park Stadium, which officially accommodate up to 12,000 spectators. The previous Theodor- Neubauer Stadium was renovated until May 2000 and was renamed after the reopening in Public Park Stadium. Since then, the final was, among other things several times to take the Thuringia Cup popularly Park Stadium.

In the grounds of the VPS is still a small field turf, as well as a mini hard court and an artificial pitch.

On 12 May 2009 took place in the People's Park Stadium for the preliminary round game instead of U-17 Football Championship in 2009 between England and Turkey.

Klaus- Törpe Sports Park

The Klaus Törpe Sports Park is approximately 500 meters from the People's Park Stadium and the alternate location of the FSV Wacker Gotha. At the beginning of 2010, the lawn had to make way for a new artificial turf field. It was opened in the summer of the year.
