Fu Chunyan

Fu Chunyan ( born December 28, 1989 in Qiqihar ) is a Chinese skater.

Fu started initially exclusively at the national level, where they already belonged at an early age to the best athletes in the discipline. After a fifth place in the Chinese -around championship in 2005, where she was the youngest among the 24 participants classified with distance, they started shortly thereafter at the Junior World Championships in Finland Seinäjoki and placed there in the midfield. The international breakthrough of the Chinese in the winter 2006/07. First, they completed their first World Cup starts in Moscow, where she came right away in the top 30, reaching first points, then they won in the all around bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Innsbruck. The same result they achieved in the team race, where they and their partners Haiyang Li and Wang Megying rank three reached under twelve nations. Subsequently, Fu won two silver medals over 3000 and 5000 meters at the Chinese Single Distances Championship.

Similarly successful was the 2008/09 season for Fu. She achieved consistent results in the World Cup - in a single frequently in the top 30, with the team several top ten results - and was also both over 3000 meters and as a team running champion at the Winter Universiade in Harbin. This success came as a surprise to the 19 -year-old in his own words; they did not expect for a moment so that she could win gold. Next goal she explained to participate in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. With continued consistent strong finishes early in the season 2009/10 she qualified for the Olympics in Vancouver and took over 3000 meters in 25th place, so cut as well as from around the World Cup.
