FC Eintracht Bamberg

The Fox Park Stadium (until 2009: main arena in the public park or public park Stadium ) is an athletics stadium in Bamberg. The stadium serves as the home ground for the third division FC Eintracht Bamberg.

History

The Volksparkstadion was created in 1926 on the occasion of the 16th Bavarian State Gymnastics Festival. The capacity at that time was about 15,000. In the late 1930s a covered stand was built, increasing capacity to 27,000 spectators. From the years 1946 and 1964 and the attendance record when the 1 FC Schweinfurt 05 dates was a guest or as the amateur international match Germany was fought against France.

In 2008, the old main stand was demolished and replaced by a new building, which includes approximately 1,000 covered seats and 200 covered standing areas.

A conversion from the spring of 2009 has made the main arena regionalliga fit. For a block separation was performed and floodlights were installed. The stadium has a nominal capacity of 22,600 spectators, the temporary solution after the conversion offers at the Regional games but initially only good 5,200 spectators (about 1,000 covered seats, about 200 covered standing room, about 4000 uncovered standing), can in other games more viewers be allowed. In August 2009 was carried out by a sponsorship deal with a local wholesale bakery renamed Fox Park Stadium. The renaming was initially agreed for a period of 10 years.

The stadium is a listed building.

Location

The stadium is part of the People's Park and is located in Bamberg East. Next to the stadium is a free and an indoor pool. The main arena is very easy to reach by car. From the motorway A73 (exit Bamberg -east) there are only four to five minutes. With the city bus line 902, stop the stadium, it is connected to public transport.

Use

In the 2008 / 09 season, the first FC Eintracht Bamberg could not deliver in Volksparkstadion its home games because it did not meet the licensing requirements for the Regional. There were missing including a separate guest area and floodlights. The home games were therefore discharged in the forest Stadium Weis Main.

Since August 2009, the Regional Games of the 1st FC Eintracht found once again at the now renamed Fox Park Stadium Volksparkstadion. Since the season 2010/2011 the follow - FC Eintracht Bamberg plays in Fox Park Stadium, which is now third division.
