Fuentelsaz

Fuentelsaz is a municipality in the Spanish province of Guadalajara of Castile -La Mancha Autonomous Region. It lies about midway between Madrid and Zaragoza, 30 km south of Calatayud and 30 km north of Molina de Aragón, on the border of the provinces of Guadalajara and Aragon.

The place is located in the central area of ​​altkastilischen chain in the transition zone in the Central Cordilleras.

A geological profile 500 m north of the village is the Global Stratotype Section and Point ( GSSP: corresponds to about one type of profile ) of the Aalenian, the time from 171.6 to 175.6 million years BC, one of the four chronographic sub-stages of the Middle Jurassic.
