Fuhse

Fuhse in Celle

The Fuhse is a 98 km long, orographic left or southern tributary of the Aller in Lower Saxony, Germany. The name probably comes from the Old High German funs Fuhse (quick, determined ).

Course

The Fuhse rises on the western slopes of the forest or on the territory of the municipality Flöthe. From its source it flows first a short distance to the west, but turns even at Flachstöckheim its course to the north. East of Lobmachtersen branches on the right side from the Old Fuhse. This watercourse is the rest of the former Fuhselaufs, enters the account of the higher-lying Sohlniveaus only at high tide waters of the Fuhse. The upper run of the Old Fuhse falls to the confluence of the north east of Bach's Lobmachtersen also regularly dry for this reason. In the Old Fuhse west of Cramme flows nor the Meesche, which is called the upper reaches buckling ditch.

The Fuhse flows west through Lobmachtersen and here takes the Calbechter Bach on. Southeast of the Barum Fuhse then combined again with the old Fuhse and turns her run back to the west. North of Gebhardshagen lead coming from the south watercourses mill race and Ahrbeek. A few kilometers further reaches the Fuhse Salzgitter Lebenstedt which is circled on the western outskirts. Here ends the left side Sukop 's mill race, flute and local creek and right side Schölke and crows Riede.

South of Lengede opens on the left side of the Big Creek in the flowing here in a northerly direction Fuhse. Between Woltwiesche and small Lafferde, northwest of Lengede the barrel turns west again. Here the left side leads coming from the southwest direction Osterbach. In Steinbrück, the Fuhse then turns north again. Northwest of the village opens on the right side the Great Lafferder Riethe and left sides of Krumbach. After the confluence of the Auebachs southeast of Adenstedt the Fuhse again changes its direction and flows for a short distance to the northeast. Here it flows through Ilsede and takes west of Klein Ilsede the Beeke 'on.

To the south of Peine opens on the right side of the Pisserbach before the Fuhse unterdükert the Mittelland Canal. Then it flows through the city, it takes the Glindbruchschölke up and turns its course back to the northwest. Your further way leads north to south and Vöhrum past Eixe. South of Abbensen opens on the left side, the benefits accruing from the west Katje Fuhse. Northeast of Dollbergen takes here again flowing in a northeasterly direction Fuhse on the black water.

West of Eltze, near the Eltzer mill is an approximately 400 m long connection Prangenberg hollow called the Erse that here the Fuhse has closed to within 300 m distance. Through this connection may be cut off at high tide to avoid flooding in the water Uetze Fuhse. At this point the course of Fuhse turns again to the west and reached after a short distance Uetze. About one kilometer after leaving the place reached the river the state forest Fuhrberg. On the way through the deciduous forest the Fuhse provides an image that comes close to the original, which existed before the expansion right.

After leaving the forest the Fuhse changes its flow direction again to the north. Southwest of Bröckel then joins the already mentioned Erse. East of Wath flows to the Harlake from the east. Then the barrel turns again to the northwest. Northwest of Nienhagen opens the Alte Aue (part of Burgdorfer Aue ) and branches off the Fuhsekanal. In this 1766-1769 artificial waters of Fuhse is chopped off in order to reduce the risk of flooding in Celle in flood water. The Fuhsekanal opens north of Hambuhren in the Aller.

The Fuhse flows north-east of the channel further, takes east of Bennebostel (south of Celle Castle ) on the right side of the ditch on Horst, flows through Celle and flows to the northwest of the old town at 33 m above sea level. NN on the left into the Aller.

On its 98 km long path from the source to the mouth of the Fuhse overcomes 104 meters of altitude, which corresponds to an average bed slope of 1.1 ‰.

River system

The river system of the Fuhse has been reduced by the hydraulic engineering measures in connection with the construction of Fuhsekanals.

At the crossing point of the Fuhsekanals opens today only a little water leading Alte Aue, the former course of the Burgdorfer floodplain. Where they led early in the Fuhse, the Alte Aue now swings into the Fuhsekanal. Only at high tide, the two strands waters in full connection, the Fuhsekanal also absorbs water from the Fuhse. The main strand of the Burgdorfer Aue leaves at Obernhagen the old course and follows the new floodplain, which meets at Celle- Wietzenbruch on the Fuhsekanal, bringing combined there the water of the old and the new floodplain again, and then flows into the Aller tends at Hambuhren. The Burgdorfer Aue has thus become the erstwhile largest tributary of the Fuhse to a peer tributary of the Aller. The catchment area of Fuhse has thus been reduced from approximately 1305 km ² to 917.5 km ², and the average discharge at the mouth decreased from about 6.5 m³ / s to 4.6 m³ / s
